KEGIATAN MPLS SMP LABORATORIUM UM
Tahun Pelajaran 2019/2020
Pendidikan adalah suatu proses yang berlangsung seumur hidup. Di lingkungan Pendidikan Formal (Sekolah) yang dikenal dengan adanya jenjang pendidikan dasar (TK dan SD) maupun jenjang pendidikan menengah (SMP dan SMA/SMK) ataupun jenjang pendidikan tinggi (Universitas/Institut). Untuk mengantar seorang anak memasuki jenjang pendidikan yang baru maka perlu terlebih dahulu mengenal lingkungan yang baru tersebut. Pengenalan ini diistilahkan dengan Masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah (MPLS) yang bertujuan untuk menjembatani siswa baru dalam mengenali dan memahami berbagai kekhususan yang ada di sekolah barunya, baik yang berupa lingkungan fisik, lingkungan sosial, tata tertib, kedisiplinan, tatakrama siswa maupun cara belajar yang berbeda dengan lingkungan pada jenjang pendidikan sebelumnya.
Pelaksanaan MPLS di SMP Laboratorium UM disusun dengan memperhatikan bahwa hari pertama masuk sekolah di SMP bagi mereka merupakan lingkungan yang baru, karena tidak semua teman kelasnya adalah teman yang berasal dari Sekolah Dasar yang sama. Adanya perbedaan usia antara siswa kelas tujuh, kelas delapan dan kelas sembilan. Oleh karena itu sejak hari-hari pertama di sekolah para siswa baru sudah mulai diperkenalkan dengan kakak kelasnya.
Di SMP Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang, para siswa diharapkan untuk belajar bersama dengan siswa lainnya sehingga dalam MPLS para siswa baru dirangsang untuk melakukan kegiatan diskusi dengan rekan-rekannya. Hal ini diperlukan untuk menunjang pembiasaan dalam pelaksanaan Kurikulum 2013. (by: Ony Setiawan, S,Pd)
